Society: why-
You: blahhhhh
- When you care what people think, you will never be happy with yourself. Some people will always notice your failures, and then hesitate to admire your success. You might think your failures are your imperfections and you start caring about what people think. Happy people don’t care and don’t expect anyone to understand what they do. Don’t change so people can praise you; let the right people love you because you are unique and real – and don’t let anyone dictates what you should do, because only you can decide.
- You confuse your identity. Focus on being yourself. Trying to impress people is like pretending to be someone else. When you start pretending, you also start comparing yourself to others. When you have impressed people, you crave for more – you might end up losing yourself for pretending someone else, you confuse who you really are, and might start to think who was the real you.
- Someone is going to have something to say. You failed? People will point their fingers on you. You succeeded? People will still notice your failures. Well, just think about the positive side. Right, you messed up, now what? Screwing up is part of the process. Appreciate your accomplishments, if not, who will?
- Waste of time. You have nothing to prove. Honestly, no one really cares how expensive your car is or how big your house is and if they do, they don’t matter. Disregard the comparisons and the judgements knocking at your door or simply ignore them. Let them know you care less.
